FSBO ListedList my home

Posting your home on Zillow as a for-sale-by-owner listing

Basic plan: put your home on Zillow yourself, using the copy we wrote for you.

MLS Listing plan? Skip this one

If you’re on the MLS Listing plan, your home goes to Zillow automatically from the MLS. Don’t post it again as a for-sale-by-owner listing: two listings for the same house confuse buyers and Zillow may remove one.

Steps

  1. Go to Zillow’s for-sale-by-owner page (zillow.com/for-sale-by-owner) and sign in or create a free account.
  2. Enter your address and confirm you’re the owner. Zillow may verify this.
  3. Paste the headline and the full description from the My listing tab of your dashboard.
  4. Fill in the facts: price, beds, baths, square feet, year built, lot size and HOA. Use the same numbers you gave us.
  5. Upload your photos in the order from the photo guide, front of the house first.
  6. For the contact number, use the FSBO Listed hotline if you’d rather not publish your cell. Callers hear the details and you get their name and number.
  7. Add your open house times if you’re holding one, then publish.

Keep it current

  • Update the price and status (pending, sold) on Zillow yourself when they change.
  • Want the MLS, Realtor.com and every buyer’s agent? You can upgrade to the MLS Listing plan from your dashboard; your Basic price is credited within 30 days.
